Which Version of QuickBooks Online Should You Choose

Tiers of QuickBooks online

Each subscription level comes with at least 2 additional “Accountant Users” where you can invite service providers like Heritage Business Services to support your business by granting them access to your QuickBooks file.  This “Accountant User” concept is the foundation of how Heritage Business Services serves clients.  

Most small businesses will have more than enough accounting software power with the lower three tiers of QuickBooks Online.

NOTE:  There is an application that Intuit sells called QuickBooks Online Self Employed. I recommend NEVER opting for QuickBooks Online Self Employed for the following reasons: 

  • It is not a real accounting software.  It is just an transaction tracking application not based on accounting fundamentals.
  • It is based on the premise that you will have personal and business expenses mixed together, which is not how a serious business owner operates his/her business.  
  • Because it is not build on real accounting concepts, you cannot upgrade from QBSE when your business grows.
